Pretty much knew we had a winner when the owner first backed it out of the garage. Usual rust and it is on Iltis tires, but all in all for a 52 year old vehicle it is in pretty good shape. Ran very rough and loud but that would be expected without any thing connected to the exhaust manifold!! Brand new top and doors (by Best Top) will be sold.
Missing one headlight guard (homemade replacement) and lifting shackles.
Floor and hat channels in fair to good shape.
Dash and instrument cluster in good shape and all instruments work. Missing data plates.
Classic right rear rust out.
Both fenders in like new condition apart from the odd dent.
Safe and sound in the driveway after a bit of a challenge bringing it home on a trailer.
Checking things out more thoroughly confirmed that things were pretty good. The hood had a TON of bondo on top but looked good underneath.
The engine appeared in good shape, good oil pressure but a bit of smoke when running. Most everything there, but painted in that darn green!
The "beauty" shot. Once restored I will frame it the same way for a good before and after shot.
