This is where the shop will go. Put in 20 yards of crushed rock and 20 yards of top dressing 3/4 crushed.
Moved all the rock with this little Yanmar tractor and rear blade. Amazing what it could do.
Contractor dropped off his gear the night before to get an early start.
The contractor, Claude, and his son framed the form in 1 day poured on the next and stripped the form on the third.
Pouring day started out sunny and then a heavy deluge dropped on us just after we finished the pour. 2004 was one of the wettest on record and caused huge delays in construction all around town. Consequently there were significant delays in this project and some of the subtrades I intended to have work on the job (stucco, electrical) were unavailable and so I did the work myself.
Claude is a general contractor who takes great pride in his work. Consequently I got more than the normal number of power trowellings which resulted in a near glass smooth floor.
The Home Depot delivery driver had some challenges with my driveway. Ended up helping him reload the material for which Home Depot refunded me the delivery fee.
First wall ready to go up.
All the walls up. There were delays because of rain making a simple job stretch out longer than planned.
